Kudremukh means horse face in Kannada, after the shape of the peak seen from one side. The peak rises to about 1,890 metres inside Kudremukh National Park, one of the largest protected rainforests in the Western Ghats. Rolling grass hills, shola forests and streams make the trek a favourite with hikers.
