Our story

Where the mountains speak softly

Tranquil Terrain is a boutique coffee estate resort in Chikmagalur, tucked into the layers of old coffee plantations and built to disappear into the land.

Founders Ramya P.C. and Sanketha C.R. wanted a place that felt both refined and close to nature. So every villa, pathway and viewpoint here was planned around the slope, the trees and the light. White walls catch the sunrise. Stone and wood keep things grounded. Glass pulls the green inside.

Come for the quiet. Stay for the slow breakfasts, the walk through the estate with our team and evenings by the fire when the hills go blue and then black.

Our restaurant is a glass pavilion that sits among the trees. Mornings bring idli, vada, dosa and strong estate coffee. Evenings are for hi-tea. You can also add a lunch or dinner buffet to your booking.

Celebrating something? We set up candle-lit dinners under the stars with flowers, music and a menu planned with you.

Where exactly is Tranquil Terrain?

We are at Channagondanahalli near Ulluvagilu, on the Mullayanagiri side of Chikkamagaluru. It is about 20 km by road from the Chikkamagaluru KSRTC bus stand and about 14 km from Mullayanagiri peak. Search "Tranquil Terrain" on Google Maps and it will bring you to our gate.

What is included in the room rate?

Every stay includes breakfast, evening hi-tea, a morning coffee estate walk, a bonfire and light music in the evening. Lunch and dinner buffets can be added while booking.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 1:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. If you are arriving early, message us and we will try to keep your villa ready.

How do I pay?

Just pay 50% advance to confirm your villa and the balance when you arrive. You will see the payment options on the booking page.

Does Tranquil Terrain have villas with a private pool?

Yes. Our two Haven villas each have a private bio leisure pool of about 6 x 15 feet, used only by the guests of that villa. Seren Manor, Twin Lotus, Twin Peaks and Retreat have private gardens with bio ponds, and every villa has an open-sky shower.

What makes this a coffee estate resort?

Tranquil Terrain is built inside a working coffee plantation in Chikkamagaluru. You wake up to coffee rows outside your villa, a guided estate walk is included with every stay and the coffee at breakfast comes from these hills.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation is free until 7 days before your check-in date.

Can you arrange pick-up from Chikkamagaluru?

Yes. Pick-up and drop from Chikkamagaluru town can be arranged with advance notice. Please share your arrival time on WhatsApp.

Are pets allowed?

Sorry, we do not allow pets at the property.
