Two days is enough to see the best of the Mullayanagiri side of Chikkamagaluru without rushing. This plan assumes you arrive by lunchtime on day one and stay at Tranquil Terrain, which is close to all of it.
Day 1: Arrive, unwind, sunset
- 1 PM: Check in, freshen up and have lunch (add a lunch buffet to your booking or eat in town on the way).
- 3 PM: Rest on your deck. Seriously, do not skip this.
- 5 PM: Evening hi-tea at the resort, then drive 15 minutes to Hirekolale Lake for sunset.
- 7:30 PM: Bonfire and light music, followed by dinner.
Day 2: Peaks and falls
- 6:30 AM: Coffee and an early start for the morning slot at Mullayanagiri. Book your vehicle slot the day before.
- 8:30 AM: Stop at Seethalayyanagiri on the way down.
- 9:30 AM: Back for breakfast and the coffee estate walk.
- 12 PM: Drive to Jhari Falls and take the jeep down.
- 2 PM: Lunch, then Chandra Drona Parvatha and Manikyadhara if you still have energy.
- 6 PM: Hi-tea, games lounge, bonfire. Maybe a candle-lit dinner.
Day 3 morning: Before you leave
Have a slow breakfast, take a last walk around the estate and check out by 11 AM. On your way home, stop in Chikkamagaluru town to buy fresh coffee powder. If you are heading to Bengaluru via Hassan, Belur is a great final stop.
Questions travellers ask
Is 2 days enough for Chikmagalur?
Two days covers the Mullayanagiri side well. Add a third day for Kemmangundi or the Belur and Halebidu temples.
