Jhari Falls, often called Buttermilk Falls because of how the water froths white over the rocks, is hidden inside a private coffee estate in the Attigundi area. It is one of the closest waterfalls to Tranquil Terrain and a favourite with our guests.

Getting there

Drive about 16 km towards Attigundi on the Chandra Drona Parvatha side. The last few kilometres are a steep, muddy estate track that only local jeeps can manage, especially after rain. The jeep drops you near the estate and a short walk leads to the falls. There is a small entry fee collected by the estate.

What to expect

  • A bumpy, fun off-road ride. Hold on tight.
  • A wide pool at the bottom where people paddle and splash.
  • Coffee and pepper growing all around the trail.

Tips

Wear clothes you do not mind getting muddy. Carry a change of clothes if you plan to get in the water. The flow is best after the monsoon. In the dry months it is much smaller.
