Manikyadhara is a gentle waterfall that drops over a rock face near the Inam Dattatreya Peetha shrine. It is not big or dramatic, but it is considered holy and many pilgrims stop here to bathe in the water, which is believed to have healing powers.
Getting there
From Tranquil Terrain it is about 26 km, roughly an hour, on the Chandra Drona Parvatha road. The vehicle booking for the Chandra Drona range applies. From the parking a set of steps leads down to the falls.
Tips
- The flow is best from August to December. In the dry summer months it can be a trickle.
- The steps get slippery, wear shoes with grip.
- Pilgrims leave clothes here after bathing as an offering. Please do not add plastic or litter.
- Combine with Chandra Drona Parvatha and Galikere, all within a few kilometres.
